The 7-speed dry clutch DSG (DQ200) shudders when pulling away from rest, particularly when cold. This is one of the most widely reported faults on VW DSG-equipped vehicles from 2008 onwards. A mechatronic unit software update (NF) resolves the issue on most vehicles. If the shudder persists after the update, the dual clutch pack itself requires replacement. Always use the correct DSG fluid (G 052 182) when servicing.
