Heater barely warm even on long journeys. Noticed the temperature gauge was sitting lower than normal. Thermostat stuck open — coolant constantly circulating through the radiator instead of warming up. New thermostat £18, fitted in 45 minutes. Heater now blows properly hot.

Heater cold after I'd done a coolant flush. Hadn't bled the system properly. Raised the front of the car on ramps, filled slowly from expansion tank with engine running and heater on max, squeezed top hose repeatedly. Heater came on hot within 5 minutes.
