Mazda CX-5 2.2 SkyActiv-D DPF blockage — urban use
DPF warning light and reduced engine power on the Mazda CX-5 2.2 diesel. The SkyActiv-D engine uses a low compression ratio and relies on precise fuel injection timing for regeneration. In predominantly urban use the exhaust temperatures required for passive regeneration are rarely achieved. A 30-minute motorway drive at 2500 RPM initiates active regeneration. Mazda also released a software update improving regeneration trigger conditions.
